Regular Mailer Box

What is a Regular Mailer Box?
A regular mailer box is a one-piece corrugated cardboard box that features integrated flaps designed to interlock or tuck into each other. This creates a secure closure without the need for external tape, making them extremely convenient for both businesses and customers.
Key Characteristics
Material: Typically made from E-flute or B-flute corrugated board. E-flute is thinner and provides a smoother surface for printing, while B-flute is slightly thicker and offers more cushioning.
Closure: Features a tuck-top closure or a lock-bottom design. The top flaps tuck into each other, and the bottom is either pre-glued or has a locking mechanism.
Durability: While not as rigid as heavy-duty shipping boxes, they are designed to withstand the rigors of standard postal and courier services.
Common Applications
Regular mailer boxes are the workhorse of modern e-commerce and subscription services. They are ideal for:
E-commerce Shipping: Perfect for clothing, accessories, books, and small electronics. Their professional look enhances the unboxing experience.
Subscription Boxes: Widely used by companies like FabFitFun or Birchbox because they are easy to assemble in large quantities and look great on a shelf.
Retail Products: Used as primary packaging for items sold in stores, especially when the product needs to be protected but also displayed attractively.
Direct-to-Consumer Brands: Brands that sell online often use custom-printed mailer boxes as a key part of their branding strategy.

Materials
Mailer boxes are primarily made from corrugated cardboard, a material known for its strength and durability. The structure consists of a fluted (wavy) inner layer sandwiched between two flat linerboards. This design creates air pockets that provide excellent cushioning and resistance to crushing, making it ideal for shipping and protecting products.

the most basic and economical form of mailer box material. It is typically brown or tan in color and has a raw, uncoated surface.

premium version where a thin sheet of high-quality paper is glued onto the surface of the corrugated board.
Flute Type

A-Flute (Thickest: ~5mm):
Largest flute size, offering excellent cushioning and stacking strength. Often used for fragile items and industrial applications.
B-Flute(Medium: ~3mm):
Medium flute size, providing good puncture resistance and a flatter surface for printing. Common for retail packaging and canned goods.
C-Flute(Balanced: ~4mm):
Versatile flute size that combines good cushioning with surface smoothness. Widely used for shipping and packaging a variety of products.
E-Flute(Thin: ~1.6mm):
Smaller flute size, offering a smooth surface for high-quality printing and better foldability. Ideal for retail packaging, displays, and smaller boxes.
F-Flute(Ultra-Thin: ~0.8mm):
The smallest flute size, providing a very smooth surface for high-quality graphics. Used for lightweight packaging and small retail boxes.
