Meet Alex Fu
The Man Behind the Presses at Autumn Hills Packaging
For more than twenty years, Alex Fu has worked in packaging, long enough to know that the best work comes from looking after clients properly and earning their trust over time. He's never chased the quick sale. "I'd rather build something lasting with a client than win a one-off order," he says - and whether you're placing your first small run or your fiftieth, you'll get the same straight answers and the same care.

That comes through in how he works. We keep communication clear and consistent as a team, so nothing gets lost along the way, and there's always room to talk through your options - a different material here, a small design change there - where it makes the packaging better or brings the cost down. He thinks of it as growing alongside his clients rather than simply supplying them, which is a big part of why so many of them come back.

Large Storage Capacity
We hold a lot of material on site — our raw material store runs to over 1,000 square metres. That space matters: it means we keep plenty of stock on hand, so we're ready to go when an order comes in rather than waiting on materials to arrive. Whether it's a big production run or a job that's needed in a hurry, we've usually got what we need to crack on.
Industry-Leading Automated Production
Advanced Heidelberg Press Configuration
We run three Heidelberg presses — a 10-colour, a 5-colour and a 4-colour. Heidelberg is about as good as printing kit gets, and having three presses means we can match the machine to the job.
The 10-colour press is the one we turn to for premium packaging and richer, multi-layer finishes, while the 5-colour and 4-colour presses handle everyday commercial work and keep turnaround quick.
Between them, we get accurate, consistent colour, less time lost switching between jobs, and the capacity to take on anything from a luxury finish to a large, budget-conscious run.
Laminating Machine
We also run laminating machines that add a high-gloss or matte film to the surface.
It's a finish that does two jobs at once; it makes the packaging tougher and harder-wearing, and it gives it that premium look and feel customers notice straight away.
Die-cutting Machines
For shaping and cutting, we've got eight manual presses alongside two automated die-cutters.
The mix gives us the best of both; the automated cutters handle speed and volume, while the manual presses give us the control for finer, more bespoke work.

Automated Carton Production System
When it comes to making up the boxes themselves, the process is largely automated. We run folding-gluing machines that seal the seams cleanly and consistently, separate assembly systems for sturdy rigid boxes, and automated carton formers that adjust to different shapes and sizes.
Keeping this side of things automated means production is fast and consistent, with fewer errors along the way — whether we're turning out straightforward e-commerce boxes or more involved luxury rigid packaging
Premium Finishing Capabilities
For the finishing touches, we use hot foil stamping machines and automated UV coating systems. The foil stamping is what gives you those metallic, embossed details, while the UV coating adds tactile textures and a hard-wearing finish that cures quickly.
Together they're how we get packaging up to a genuine luxury standard; sharp, precise detailing that looks and feels the part.
Dedicated Production Lines
All told, we run more than 20 specialist production lines, which between them turn out around 500,000 card boxes and 40,000 gift boxes a day.
It's a setup that handles big volume and fiddly, detailed custom work side by side — the automation keeps the numbers up, while the hands-on skill makes sure the finer packaging is done properly.
QC Commitment
Every order goes through careful quality checks at every stage - from the raw materials coming in to the finished boxes going out, following a four-stage process.
What makes the real difference, though, is that it's not left entirely to systems: someone from the team is regularly on the production floor keeping an eye on things, and whenever he gets the chance, Alex is down there himself.
With over twenty years behind him, he knows what good looks like, and nothing leaves the factory unless it's up to standard.
